In The Classroom

It is extremely important that pupils receive all information in the classroom. There are various ways of achieving this.

If you are considering installing induction loops or infra red systems in the classroom you should ensure that a microphone is installed for the teacher and also a microphone positioned within the room to collect any comments from the pupils. This is important as the hearing aid wearer needs to hear other pupils questions and the answers given by the teacher. Any assistive listening device needs to be provided from the perspective of the deaf or hearing aid wearer, it is our responsibility to provide them with the complete classroom experience.

There are a vast range of personal listening devices to choose from, the great thing about these are that they are portable allowing the pupil to use them in a variety of environments. Portable devices are also available for non hearing aid wearers, these can be used with headphones.
